Lou & Don #1

Lou Romano and I have done a few images together. I love when he paints my layout drawings!
The first time we ever worked together was this background key for Dave Wasson's cartoon short "Max & His Special Problem".
I did the layout drawing and Lou painted it in Gouache and Pastel on black museum board.
1997
...yeah, i know, the arrow shadow is backwards.
Not Looking

Here's a small painting i did and then composited it with the piece of paper i was using to test colors and brush strokes.

Quickies

Been super busy lately, but feeling the need to post something, so here's a few photos of things sitting around my studio at home.
The top one is charcoal on paper. I got a set of assorted charcoal drawing sticks one day and was fooling around.
The bottom pic is a post-it doodle of a tree that I framed. The collage behind it is my most elaborate storyboard "page 0" for the Uh, Oh Dynamo! episode of Powerpuff Girls.

Thinking

Ink on Watercolor Paper
1995
never got a great scan of this painting.
it's hard to get the warm color in the ink without making the whole image look yellow.
maybe someday i'll take it out of the frame again and get a professional scan.

First

A blog seems to be a good place for me to stick random scraps and doodles.
Since that seems to be all that I have time for outside of work then here we go...
