Kurt Makes an Appearance

...at the San Diego Comic-Con that is.

pencil and water soluble graphite on nice hot press watercolor paper.

here's a detail...

This year Scott Morse will be selling a limited edition print set to promote our next book The Ancient Book of Sex and Science. (Scott Morse, Lou Romano, Nate Wragg, and myself) That book won't be for sale until next year's con so we put together a nice set of 8x10 prints. More on that soon!

I won't be at this year's con (I'll be in Tahoe with my lovely wife and adorable new daughter celbrating our 2 year anniversary!) but besides the print set I decided to do some drawings and give them to Scott to peddle at his table. (he doesn't even know this yet ;-D hehe) I haven't settled on price yet, but it'll be something CHEAP like $40 or $50!

Here's the first, warts and all. Let's see how many I can do by monday... seriously i'm so busy, this might be the only one haha!
It's a Kurt jam. Start in one corner and draw!
I've been obsessively playing this dice game on my iPhone so it looks like Kurt is getting some of the action too.

Frilly Doodle

Well, I'm back at work now and I'm trying to clear off my desk. I came across this frilly doodle I did in a meeting. Sometimes I just draw what people say and in this case someone was talking about schedule dates.

New Fine Art Project!

Here's my latest work of fine art. It was my first collaboration with my wife. Technically I just supplied half the designs while she did the other half and all the construction work. I think the project turned out great! We call her ChloƩ.

The show is called Abstraction Distraction and it has many great artists involved including Glenn Barr, Chris Reccardi, Lynne Naylor, Tim Biskup and more! The show opens this Saturday, Feb 16th.

Unfinished Woman

I don't normally paint with Photoshop but I was messing around with it. I decided to try painting with just the default round hard edge brush.

Happy Birthday to Blog...

It's Shank Pile's 2nd birthday!

That's right, it's been 2 years and believe it or not I'm still here.
Things have been busy at work and home life and all my free time has been spent on some personal projects that are in the works. Right now I'm in London but when I get back I have some new things to post... finally!
