Incredibles Cameo

Here's the pre-production painting that Lou Romano did of my layout (click for larger version). You can see on the left wall the archway usher painting. Alas, it never made it into the actual movie.

Detail (click for larger)

for some reason the image was cropped in the "art of" book and unfortunately the painting on the wall got cut in half. bummer.

Wow! The bottom post, Archway Usher, is really quite beautiful. Your sense of composition and lighting is great. Kind of reminds me of a cold autumn sunrise. Impressive work.

Beautiful work! I like the way you even had Violet (intentional or not) leading you to the painting with her glance.

That's not just any Japanese robot toy, is it? I think it's Great Mazinger, specifically the 70s "Shogun Warrior" version. Am I right?

Archway Usher, of course, is also amazing. Shame it got cropped out in the book.

Correct. It's indeed Great Mazinger!

And yes, I'm a fan of Japanese monsters, superheroes and robots (mostly the classic stuff). :)

Love that INCREDIBLES concept painting (it's one of my favorite movies)!

Aw man, now I feel cheated knowing that the painting got cut off in the book...none-the-less, stellar work.

It's all very inspiring. THANKS!

AMAZING!! I LOVE 60s architecture & houses! & it's obvious you know theyre design really well! i especially love the wooden circles on the very right side of the picture - that element is VERY 60s! this reminds me a lot of the BGs in the "Buy One Get One Free" cartoon that you made for CN.

You should post more of your artwork, especially for people in the film industries.
