Sections from a Work in Progress

These are Hipstamatic photos of a painting that's been kicking around my studio for 2 years now. I recently pulled it out to work on it some more. These photos are more contrast-y and saturated than the original piece.

Microscope 4

Microscope 4
2009/2011
24" by 36"
Acrylic on Panel

This is a painting that I started and finished in 2009 over a period of five months. I wasn't happy with that first version and so I wrapped it up and stored it in my office. It's been traveling with me as I moved from office to office for two years and in December of 2011 I rediscovered it behind some moving boxes. I still didn't like it. I decided to paint over and revamp it. The result is what you see here.

Boy & Girl

Boy & Girl
6" x 8"
Acrylic on Canvas

This painting was done on a sheet of un-stretched canvas that I use for practicing and experimenting. The underpainting is pretty thin washes and I didn't cover it with too much paint as I worked it. I kind of like the slight transparent watercolor look.
