This is a piece I did for some friends who recently celebrated their fifth anniversary. (Or sort of recently anyway, it's taken me an extremely long time to get it scanned and prep it for shipping)

The Ancient Book of Sex & Science art show and book release was last weekend and there was a great turn out. I had a great time, and thank you to everyone at Nucleus for the work you did hosting it. Thank you to everyone that came down to the show, it was great meeting all of you.

The show will be up through May 28th, 2009.
Here's one of my pieces from the show...

Yuki 7!

I'm thrilled to have been included in the amazing new book coming from Kevin Dart about his character Yuki 7. What I've seen of the book is incredible and I can't wait to get my hands on it! There will be a gallery show and book release party at Gallery Nucleus on July 3rd at 7pm. The book is going to include some guest art and my contribution to the book is this faux pulp fiction cover.

Sex Fades

Sex Fades
18" x 24"
Acrylic on Panel

Another from the Ancient Book of Sex & Science. I used some molding paste on this one to give it an extreme texture. I'm really happy with the way it all came out.
The gallery show will be opening on May 16th, 2009. Gallery Show Page Here. More info as we get closer to the event. All these pieces will be for sale at the show.

Laboratory Still Life 02

Laboratory Still Life 02
18" x 24"
Acrylic on Panel

The deadline for our Ancient Book of Sex & Science is coming up next month and I still have 3 more paintings to finish. I'll be posting the remaining 4 of my images for the book through February.

I'm kind of hopping around between styles as I learn how to work with acrylic paint. This one I tried to go loose and I'm pleased with the colors (though it seems these images look different on every computer I look at them on)

Kurt Makes an Appearance

...at the San Diego Comic-Con that is.

pencil and water soluble graphite on nice hot press watercolor paper.
10"x14"

here's a detail...

This year Scott Morse will be selling a limited edition print set to promote our next book The Ancient Book of Sex and Science. (Scott Morse, Lou Romano, Nate Wragg, and myself) That book won't be for sale until next year's con so we put together a nice set of 8x10 prints. More on that soon!

I won't be at this year's con (I'll be in Tahoe with my lovely wife and adorable new daughter celebrating our 2 year anniversary!) but besides the print set I decided to do some drawings and give them to Scott to peddle at his table. (he doesn't even know this yet ;-D hehe) I haven't settled on price yet, but it'll be something CHEAP like $40 or $50!

Here's the first, warts and all. Let's see how many I can do by monday... seriously i'm so busy, this might be the only one haha!
It's a Kurt jam. Start in one corner and draw!
I've been obsessively playing this dice game on my iPhone so it looks like Kurt is getting some of the action too.
