Kurt - Table Doodles
I just found this photo of some doodles I did earlier this year on a paper I laid out to protect my table.
Kurt is working on a little abstract painting of a cake.

Finger on Glass
When I have some spare time (hahahahah) I like to paint on my iPad. Most of the people I know that use an iPad use a stylus because they want to draw/sketch more than paint. Yes, drawing with your finger isn't so great but I have no problem Painting with my finger. In fact, I like it quite a bit.
Above are a handful of paintings I did on my iPad with the Brushes app for iPad. I love this app. Yes, I've tried Sketchbook Pro, I like it fine, it's a great app, but I'm drawn more to the simple directness of Brushes. It's a pleasure to use. (Though there are a few things I wish it had (Saturation Slider please!))
Also, one of the coolest things is you can play back your painting right there on the iPad and watch as it re-creates itself. Even better you can email yourself the "actions" file for the painting to your computer and using the free Brushes Viewer application it can re-render the image up to 6x high and wide (that's 4608pixels by 6144 pixels!) The images here on my blog were shrunk down from that size to 2000 x 1500. It will export Quicktime movies too, I'll post some movies in the future.
Most of the work I do on my iPad is abstract but I have toyed a little with some indoor plein comput-air painting hehe. I would love to make a giant burka style outdoor iPad plein air painting jumpsuit hahaha.

Gouache Sketches
I've been sketching in my little sketchbook with gouache lately.
The construction of this chair is totally goofy. I didn't really care about that, I just wanted something so that I could practice painting.

Maxfield's
Went to Maxfield's (aka The Pied Piper) in the city on sunday. It's pretty cool in there though they served my whiskey sour in a wine glass (???)

Back Room at the Chelsea Bar
Found this in one of my sketchbooks from a year ago.
Just one of the bars that Kurt frequents. Apparently there's a back room where one can enjoy a bit of gambling.

Kurt Walking
just a couple of simple doodles of Kurt.
He likes to walk.

I'll be putting up the remaining Myth & War print/postcard sets soon.
The book is now officially sold out!

Back Again...
Whew! What a crazy trip. I got back a week ago but couldn't be bothered. Now to get the ball rolling again here's some random drawings of Kurt I had sitting on my machine.
And, In celebration of being back, here's Kurt's back...

Vacation Bikini-Kurt Sketchbook
...and one palm tree at the bottom
We had a great time on our honeymoon. So great that I didn't spend as much time as I thought with my sketchbook :-D
I started out sketching the scenery but after a time I reverted to my same old antics.
I think I like the cream colored pages in my new sketchbook. Gives a soft look. The pure white pages scan so harsh.
Only filled 10 pages and the earlier stuff didn't make the cut for the blog. Had trouble with controlling the color on those and then just ditched my tiny portable watercolor palette for one I made myself with professional tube watercolors that I just squeezed into pans and let dry. Works great!

Little Sketchbook Sketches
Here's four little watercolor sketches I took from my small Moleskine sketchbook.
This last one I did right before painting the Archway Usher image a few posts back.
